MONSTER AUCTION

On our recent visit to Belarus we were, once again, immersed into the fierce reality of the majority of the people living there. Their tormented plight has re-ignited the humanity in us towards "aidful" action.

To this end we organised a MONSTER AUCTION at the Community Center in Corrandulla on 27th May 2007.

A million thanks to all who donated items to this very worthy cause. Donations were in any number of formats; goods, vouchers for produce or services, cash (receipt available), a special DVD of the groups most recent visit to Belarus, etc, etc.

The Auction was widely publicised leading up to the Auction date. As we anticipated there was a striking response to our appeal for donations coupled with brisk bidding and good value on the day. The Auction was officially opened by Lucia Evans at 2pm and continued non stop untill 10pm approx. Auctioneers worked simultaneously inside and outside. We would like to thank all the auctioneers who gave their services on the day.
A special thanks to our committee and all who helped, both leading up to and on the day. We were overwhelmed by the scope of people's good will and would like to thank everyone for their generous support.
The undertaking was a major success with over €70,000.00 raised between the auction itself and related cash donations.
All money raised will go directly to assist the many afflicted people in Belarus, through our ongoing aid initiatives there.
